Actuarial Review Letter Policies
Updated March 6, 2026
Actuarial Review welcomes letters from readers that provide constructive commentary on content published in the magazine. To ensure clarity and fairness, letters must respond to material published in Actuarial Review. Letters about CAS governance, policies, or individuals should be directed to the appropriate CAS groups (e.g., Board, working groups, task forces, councils) and will not be published. Letters must be respectful and professional. Submissions may not contain: Personal attacks, disparagement of individuals or groups, or inflammatory language; false, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims; political commentary or rhetoric; or attempts to use Actuarial Review as a platform for advocacy unrelated to published content. Letters must be no longer than 250 words. Only one letter per author will be considered for publication in every other issue. Previously addressed topics will not be revisited unless new, relevant information is provided. Letters must include the author’s full name and contact information (email or phone number) for verification. Anonymous letters will not be published. All letters are subject to editing for clarity, style, and compliance with this policy. Publication is not guaranteed and is contingent on available space. Final decisions rest with the Actuarial Review editorial team and CAS staff.
